take place in two stages. The preliminary competitions for both

10am to 2pm. The top groups (number to be determined based on

Both the preliminary competition and
the finals will be held at the Royal Theatre.

stage layout for the theatre, and note the following:
-
In the drawing , the heavy black lines represent the stage
draperies. At the side edges of the performing area, there are five
pairs of black "legs" (which are tall, narrow draperies), and behind
the performing area is a full-width black backdrop. With this
arrangement, the areas at the sides of the stage (which are the
"wings" proper) - and more importantly the people standing in the
wings - will be masked from the audience's view.
-
For crossing over in a hurry, the dancers would go behind the
backdrop, next to the wall shown at the top of the drawing (purple
lines). The passage is about four feet wide, and there is safety
lighting in place. The one side looks a bit tight at the edge, but
they would actually fold back the drapery a bit.
-
If there is no hurry to get from one side to the other, the better
way is to cross underneath the stage (through the dressing room
area), via the stairs in the corners of the stage. This takes well
under a minute, even for opera singers in big costumes.
