Location, location, location ...

Situated on the tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the Capital city of British Columbia and home of the Parliament Buildings.  With a rich cultural and architectural heritage and its eco-adventures and night life—Victoria is very West Coast, very ‘hip’ and truly wonderful.  What’s more, as a city by the sea, Victoria has the mildest climate in Canada with lots of sunshine.  Flowers in bloom all year-round; even hanging from the lamp posts throughout the downtown area (captured in our medal design/logo for the event).

Victoria was recently voted in the North American Traveler’s magazine as one of the top 10 cities in Canada to visit.  It was voted by readers of Conde Nast Traveler as “#1 City in the America’s for ambience and adventure” and Vancouver Island was rated as “#1 Island” by Traveler’s Magazine.  3.5 million people visit Victoria each year!

As one of the top tourist destinations in North America, Victoria offers amazing tourist attractions for all ages, including the Pacific Undersea Gardens, Butchart Gardens (renowned as the ‘8th Wonder of the World’), Butterfly Gardens, Bug Zoo, Miniature World, the Royal London Wax Museum, the Royal British Columbia Museum, historic Craigdarroch and Hatley Castles, the oldest Chinatown in Canada, whale-watching, sport-fishing, scenic golf courses, and of course endless beaches to explore.
