Sponsorship Opportunities

The ScotDance Canada Championship Series is celebrating its 34th anniversary on July 2 - 6, 2008, at the Victoria Conference Centre, Victoria, British Columbia.

Each year one of the Canadian Provinces hosts this prestigious event which has grown from a one day Canadian Championship event to a 5 day International Highland Dance event to include the Canadian Highland Dance Championships.  The event has grown in numbers of competitors also, from approximately 140 competitors (representatives from each Canadian Province), to over 1000 competitors from around the World—“The Largest Highland Dancing Competition in the World!

ScotDance Canada, the national body that oversees the continuity of the Canadian Highland Dance Championships, was granted incorporation status under the Canada Corporations Act by the Minister of Industry Canada in 1994 and in 1995 received charitable status designation.  The ‘affiliates’ (each Province) under the umbrella of ScotDance Canada are the Provincial ScotDance bodies (ScotDance BC, ScotDance Alberta, etc.)  The Provincial ScotDance body hosting the Canadian Highland Dance Championship each year is responsible for the funding required to organize the event.  We would like to offer you the opportunity of supporting this exciting event in 2008 in Victoria, B.C.

OUR MISSION

ScotDance Canada and its affiliates including ScotDance BC, host of the 2008 Canadian Highland Dance Championship Series, is a non-profit Charitable organization whose objectives are to oversee the preservation and promotion of Scottish Highland Dance through competitions, specifically the Canadian Highland Dance Championship Series.  By involving thousands of dancers across Canada and around the world, ScotDance Canada, through competitions and demonstrations, works to ensure that the general public is educated about the correct technique of Scottish Highland dance.
